STONEDOG RALLIES TO KIRSTY MACCOLL TRIBUTE CONCERT 10-10-10

On October 8, 2010, Stonedog Producer Ishmael Annobil received a text message followed by a few calls, asking if Stonedog would consider shooting the landmark tribute concert to mark the 10th Anniversary of the great Kirsty Maccoll's untimely and controversial death. Chief among the enquirers was Ben Taylor, promoter of the concert , who had also produced a documentary about the singer's death.

A big fan of the Late singers'  voice, Ishmael said yes. In a heady 24 hour producing marathon, Stonedog was able to muster its best camera crew and very descent number of Canon 7Ds, one D550 bought on the day of shooting, and two handy HD canons. Against all odds, the entire footage was in the can. The odds being a gridlock on all central London roads leading the Shepherds' Bush O2 Arena, venue of the magnificent concert.

The ever infectious Phil Jupitus was master of ceremony, and backing band was Kirsty band, who swung seamlessly from folk to Jazz. Jean McColl, Kirsty's plucky mother made it to the concert and delivered a heartwarming message of thanks, despite her bereavement.
